The artist behind Madame Matita;
Raquel Abbott
Having grown up in Santo Domingo, I have always been mesmerized by the architecture of the old city center and all the tropicalness that surrounds it. The houses with their faded beauty always triggered my imagination.
I saw rooms filled with warm colors and nature-inspired patterns on the walls. Sunlight danced over the pillows with my own designs on them.
As an illustrator and interior designer, I want to enhance the beauty of your world. And what better place to start than in your own home. Creating a cozy space where you come back to yourself the moment you step in.
I enjoy designing products such as stationery and gift wrapping paper, but I also love creating watercolor fine art. Some of my work is available in Florenzza (in Santo Domingo) and on my Etsy Shop.
My designs can be applied to a variety of decor products like fabrics and wallpaper. I’m currently open for commissions work or art licensing collaborations, so don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about my work.
I would love to design colorful patterns and shower you with the same warmth that I grew up with.

The name Madame Matita describes who I am: a woman with a pencil (Matita) whose goal is to give your interior the homelike and cozy vibes that only cute and tiny plants (matitas) can give.
